You’re being shot into space. What do you bring? My mother, my father, and a GoPro. For such an amazing adventure, I’d like to bring the two people I love most and way to capture it.

How would you describe office life at The Trade Desk?
Buzzing. There are peaks and valleys of how loud it gets, but all of that activity is a result of people engaging in thoughtful conversations about how to approach the market, and how to service their clients. Often times, it's a mix of social interaction. I think people view each other as friends, companions and colleagues, so you get a nice balance. There's a lot of laughing that goes on and there's a ton of poking fun and joking. The Trade Desk has a warm and comforting feel to it.

So, you can be yourself?
It's definitely somewhere I can open up more, compared to other places I’ve worked. This openness allows everyone to really trust one another, to learn about each other's personality, all resulting in a better working environment, more efficiency, and higher performance. I’m thankful for the great relationships all around.

This is your first full-time sales role. What have you learned here that you couldn’t have elsewhere?
I've learned that you primarily need to be very knowledgeable. You don't need to be overly aggressive, you don't need to push. You don't need to force anyone to move in a certain direction. Become a trusted resource; a good, kind, respected person in the space, know your stuff, treat people well, don't talk bad about others or your competitors, and you'll see success follow.

What’s surprised you most about The Trade Desk?
The discipline that the leadership team has in staying true to their vision and values. There's a lot of press, there are a lot of ways you can react to what the market is saying or doing, and there are a lot of ways you can follow the buzz, but Jeff, Dave and the extended leadership team have done a fantastic job maintaining their integrity with what’s truly important. I was fascinated by the fact that we didn't grow our marketing team until years later, and that's because we were focused on getting the technology and the engineering right.
