Director, Talent Operations

  • Lead and manage a high performing, geographically distributed team in execution of end-to-end recruitment
  • Develop and demonstrate a deep understanding of The Trade Desk culture and business, and become an expert in competency behavioral evaluation
  • Own the hiring process for senior leadership roles; contribute to meaningful culture interviewing, and make profound recommendations and impact hiring decisions based on your insight
  • Evaluate alternative talent solutions as appropriate to ensure best practices and contemporary recruiting methods are deployed; Optimize the talent acquisition department as an operation
  • Develop strategies for change, win buy-in of your recommendations from the General Manager and leadership, and collaborate with your team to deploy them
  • Work with the Talent Team Business Analyst to build reports, analyze how we work, and offer opportunities to improve
  • Become an expert in our company proposition, the inner workings of our teams and operations, and long-term goals, and understand how hiring contributes to our overall success
  • Effectively manage team meetings, and deliver presentations to the executive team on the hiring program
  • Keep a pulse on trends and innovative recruiting techniques and technologies, to remain competitive in state-of-the-art recruiting
  • Leverage strong partnerships to ensure cross-business and cross-functional alignment and collaborations
  • Prioritize compliance and remain abreast of global employer law changes
  • Contribute to and promote our company culture and vision


  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree required
  • Operates with a high level of humility and emotional intelligence at all times; can respectfully interface and collaborate across the company; willingness to learn from colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • 5-8+ years of work experience in operations role, consulting, or talent operations, with large involvement and investment in hiring
  • Ability to translate strategic thinking and operational excellence into concrete results by focusing on quality and execution
  • Track record of effectively managing and inspiring high performing, remote teams, and building sustainable organizational capability in a talent-minded organization
  • Strategically-minded but willing and eager to roll up sleeves to guide the team and get work done
  • Strong project management experience required, including designing, planning and implementing strategic initiatives, with facilitation, networking, and influencing capabilities
  • Experience in performance management, employee development, and leadership development
  • Collaborate with all levels within the organization to shape the culture to attract, retain, and excite key talent
  • Extraordinary learning agility, ability to bring prior expertise, and adapt appropriately for The Trade Desk’s unique culture
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing; excellent presentation skills
  • Sound business ethics and judgment, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Must possess ability to track and manage competing priorities and projects
  • Autonomous, able to tolerate ambiguity, self-motivated
  • Detail oriented and quality minded
  • Willingness to travel
