As Executive Vice President for North America for The Trade Desk, Matt Goldberg is focused on driving revenue generation and new client acquisition strategy to further the company’s rapid growth. Based in New York, Matt will help The Trade Desk gain market share across the important North American region, particularly in emerging, high growth areas such as connected TV and mobile.
Prior to The Trade Desk, Matt was global head of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic alliances for News Corp. Before that, he served as senior vice president of corporate development at Liberty Interactive/QVC Group, with a focus on content and commerce across TV, digital video, and emerging markets. Matt has also held several leadership positions in media and technology, including CEO at Lonely Planet, where he focused on the transformation of the business and driving geographic expansion into China, India, Brazil, and Russia, as well as overseeing operations for The Wall Street Digital Network, and as senior director of U.S. business development at Bertelsmann Inc.
Matt is board chairman of Elara Technologies in India and serves on the boards of several other organizations, including TeamSnap in Boulder, Colo.; the Cornell University Council in Ithaca, N.Y.; the University of Melbourne USA Foundation in New York City, and the Burning Man Project in San Francisco.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Cornell University, a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Melbourne, and a master’s in business administration from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
He lives with his wife and three children in Short Hills, N.J.
